China Mobile (Weibo) announced that it will launch the centralized procurement bidding for four types of GSM antenna products. For manufacturers that have passed the preliminary review after registration, China Mobile will organize personnel to conduct sampling tests on the antennas.

It is understood that this centralized procurement of GSM antenna products includes four types of products, including electrically adjustable antennas, omnidirectional antennas, directional single-polarized antennas and directional dual-polarized antennas. The products must meet the technical specifications for the centralized procurement of GSM antenna products of China Mobile. China Mobile will organize the registration and conduct preliminary review and confirmation of the registration materials.

It is worth noting that for manufacturers that have passed the preliminary review, China Mobile will organize an expert team to conduct on-site inspections of the manufacturer's factory, including the review of comprehensive strength, confirmation of the manufacturer's production scale and facilities, etc. At the same time, the expert team will confirm the registered products of each manufacturer and conduct sampling tests on the registered products. Only after passing the on-site inspection and product sampling tests, can they have the bidding qualifications for the relevant registered products of China Mobile's GSM antenna centralized procurement in 2011-2012 and enter the subsequent bidding stage.

In terms of bidding, China Mobile only accepts bids from the original manufacturer or its only designated agent nationwide. A manufacturer can only entrust one agent to participate in the bidding for the same brand and model of products.

In terms of network development, China Mobile recently proposed the concept of coordinated development of four networks in order to achieve the integrated development of GSM, TD-SCDMA, LTE, and WLAN. Lu Xiangdong, vice president of China Mobile, said that in GSM deployment, it is necessary to reduce network interference, optimize and control new solutions for GSM network data services, and study and promote GSM/LTE hardware common platform.
