BeiDou Navigation Satellite System is a global satellite navigation system independently developed by my country. It consists of three parts: space segment, ground segment and user segment. It can provide high-precision and high-reliability positioning, navigation and timing services every second, and has short message communication capability. All these functions require BeiDou antenna to receive signals to function properly. Although BeiDou antenna is very powerful, there are still some problems that need to be solved. What are they? The following is told by the technicians of ARIS Technology:
The previous Beidou-1 antennas can fully meet the index requirements and even contribute some margin to the system, but Beidou-1 only has transmission and reception, and the dual-satellite regional positioning will make Beidou-1 rely on two frequency points on the sky, and the line low elevation angle will only appear in special areas such as Mohe and Kashgar. For most parts of China, the use of satellite low elevation angle reduction indicators is still relatively low, but it will affect the actual use effect. At present, Beidou-1 antenna can fully meet the index requirements and even contribute some margin to the system. However, Beidou-1 only has two frequencies for transmission and reception, and the dual-star regional positioning will make Beidou-1 rely on two frequencies for the sky, and the low elevation angle of the line will only appear in areas with special locations such as Mohe and Kashgar. For most parts of China, the use of satellite low elevation angle reduction indicators is not still relatively high, but it will affect the actual use effect.
Beidou-2 antenna has many frequencies and small size. Because it is a global satellite positioning system, the constellation is half less than that of GPS and other satellite positioning systems. It still relies heavily on low elevation angle gain, and there is also the problem of multiple antennas stacking, so the gain problem of low elevation angle needs to be solved at present.
The low elevation angle index is a very important index in Beidou antenna. In order to solve the problem of low elevation angle index, in addition to using the appropriate antenna size, some basic problems should also be solved, including material loss and relative magnetic permeability materials.
The material loss of Beidou antenna, especially the loss of high dielectric constant, is a problem that makes the gain in the front direction smaller than that of low dielectric constant material radiator. The gain at low elevation angle will increase without considering the loss. Therefore, solving the loss problem of high dielectric constant material can directly solve the efficiency problem of microstrip antenna, which is of great significance to the improvement of low elevation angle gain.
